Last evening I tried one of my chocolate purchases from Donnelly Chocolates in Santa Cruz. It is a combination of chocolate and Chinese Five Spice. Five spice is a classic Chinese condiment that embodies the 5 main senses of taste - salty, sour, sweet, savory, and bitter; cinnamon, star anise, fennel seeds, cloves, and ginger. I know it probably sounds strange but it left a very nice flavor on the tongue. Looking forward to more of it.
