Day Five Wrap Up

Saturday was spent totally in the Chamberlain/Oacoma area. We put 15 miles on the Toyota.

First thing in the morning, we drove up to the Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center which is the most elaborate freeway rest stop I have ever seen. This one is on I-90 if you ever want to visit.

Then to St. Joseph's school for tours of some of the residential homes. Very spacious and organized home life for these students.

Pow Wow began at noon with many preliminary ceremonies and honoring of veterans, etc. we watched the dancing until around 2 when we left for food and a little break from the bleacher benches.

We visited another historic restaurant/stopping place along I-90 called Al's Oasis. Just another roadside adventure ya gotta say you stopped. Not a gourmet experience.

Back to the school for more Pow Wow and then our evening Picnic which featured Buffalo Stew. It was good. Tasted basically like minestrone but used buffalo meat.

On the way back to our room, we stopped along the Missouri for a few photos. And then our earliest night so far in our room. It was nice to have a chance to repack and organize the mess in our suitcases. And get a good night's sleep.

Today, following Mass at the school's Chapel, we are on to Mitchell, the Corn Palace and other roadside attractions. Happy Sunday.
