Day Six Wrap Up

First thing in the morning, we returned to the Falls. Because of overcast clouds, the lighting was fairly identical to dusk the night before so I wasn't interested in more photographs of the same.

Downtown to the Sculpture Row and photographs of an old diner restaurant. We weren't hungry yet so we scratched eating there from our list.

Then we headed south to Spirit Mound stopping on the way to eat at Touch of Dutch at a truck stop. Yes, I ate at a truck stop.

At Spirit Mound I hiked the 1.6 round trip up the Mound. Mom pooped out too soon and waited on a bench. She should have stayed with it as it turned out she had trekked over half of it. The fact that it circled the mound first made it appear farther. Great view from the top.

Then onto Nebraska, Wynot, the Outlaw Trail which overlaps the Lewis & Clark Trail in some places and then back up into South Dakota over the dam which crosses Mighty Mo. That river is wide now but it was HUGE when L&C crossed it.

Then the grueling drive back to I-90, a stop at Culver's in Mitchell for a sundae to wake me up and then limping into Chamberlain around 7PM. Long day. 291 miles. Finally got a good nights sleep and now on to Wall Drug.
